This is a great Dehumidifier September 14, 2005 44 out of 45 found this review helpful
Despite the negative review of this product, I decided to try it since it had all the features I was looking for. Especially the pump. I bought this for my Mom who recently moved and the basement was damp and smelly. The previous owner left a Sears dehumidifier but it did not remove a drop of water from the air. I had an old Edison one that I lent my Mom. It worked fine but if you didn't put the bucket in the exact proper position, it would overflow. Since my Mom is a senior citizen, I wanted one that would automatically pump the water into the utility sink she had in the basement. So, this Delonghi met this important criteria to me.
After about three weeks of use, I have nothing but praise for this product. It is very quiet and has a long hose. It can pump the water up to ten feet high and it does this magnificently. You can also program it and adjust the amount of humidity you want to remove.
The basement no longer smells and you can set this dehumidifier up and forget about it. It removes a lot of water within a short period of time (depending on the humidity level you set it for and the amount in the air) and then shuts off when it reaches the setting. Since we got it we have not had to even concern ourselves with it at all. There was absolutely no problem setting it up. I would recommend this product to anyone.
NO BUCKET TO EMPTY w/ BUILT-IN PUMP! August 25, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Easy to setup and program (I had no need to use timer so I can not comment on that). Pump with long clear plastic hose (only about 1/4 inch in diameter) is not very conspicuous and works great. I have the hose going up about three feet out a window and it works perfectly. If you do not have a drain nearby the pump and hose feature is much better than having to empty a bucket every day or two (it is long enough to reach a window easily and narrow enough to drill an inconspicuous hole to the outside). I really like the digital readout and ability to set the humidly level (i.e. 40%, 45%, 50%, 55%, etc). Only thing I would change is the fact that they mounted the hose for the pump out the front of the unit (I unscrewed the mounting plate so I could have it slip out the side).
Everything you could want in a dehumidifier August 15, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I used this dehumidifier to help with a chronically damp basement and am pleased to say that it was excellent. Never having to empty buckets of dirty water is nice, as well as the energy saving features that keep costs down when I am letting this run all day and all night.
Works like a champ August 9, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
After going thru 2 dehumidfiers in about 10 years (the last one was a Whirlpool piece of garbage) I can honestly say this one is a gem. It works beautifully, not any noisier than any other unit (I dont think any of them are really very quiet) BUT since I run it in my basement, noise isnt a factor anyway.
The humidstat works great (shuts off and on according to the humidity level) and it dried up VISIBLE moisture (as I said, my Whirlpool dehumidifier didnt work for s*#t) in less than 48 hours.
For the first time ALL SUMMER, my basement is actually DRY.
So far, so good, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality dehumidifier.

This DeLonghi dehumidifier comes with a built-in pump so you do not have to empty the collected water. It was easy to set up and started decreasing the humidity in my basement immediately. Within a day or two it dropped the humidity from over 70 percent down to the target I set of 50 percent. I have been using it about two months. It runs automatically maintaining the target humidity I set. I am happy with it and would buy the same model again.
