 Not as quiet, but great humidifier October 29, 2006

It was hard to find a humidifier that wasn't terribly expensive and would get the job done. This is certainly one of them. It has worked great, and its interface is simple. Three buttons to set up power (lo, med, hi), timer, and desired humidity (from 25% to 65%). It comes with a ProTec cleaning cartridge, which protects against Bacteria, Mold, Fungi & Algae. Filling up the humidifier is not difficult, but you do have to do it everyday, as it only has a 4 gallon tank. One thing to mention is that it is not as quiet as I expected it would be. At full power it emits sound like a regular fan, and at low power you can still hear the fan, but it's low enough to sleep with. This feature almost made me put 4 stars instead of 5, but I must say that all in all, this is a good humidifier.

Just bought this was to replace my old Honeywell humidifier which was Honeywell's old design. The new design is a vast improvement; much quieter and overall operates much better. Compare it to others in it's class and the Honeywell HCM650 is the one to go with.

this has helped very much and is quiet as well....provides a therapy for our throats and makes waking up in the AM much more enjoyable because our throats aren't dry....good value

This humidifier is small and quiet. It does the job nicely with our wood stove going. I keep it in the same room as the wood stove to cut down the static electricity. Easy to fill every AM and runs all night on low. Great product!

Love this product. I use a 2 humidifiers year round, 24/7 due to asthma triggered by hot dry air. Many reviewers have complained about the fan noise. It is not ultrasonic so it does have a fan. However, the fan is a smooth noise with three settings, and the humidistat works 100 times better than the one on my former Bionaire humidifier. It is much quieter than the Bionaire and it works quickly. That means the fan comes on, puts out needed moisture and then turns off as soon as your desired humidity setting is reached. It doesn't turn off and on every 15 seconds like the annoying Bionaire did. Very little cleaning required with Protec and filtered H20 (no minerals) water. In short, It is much quieter and MUCH more efficient than other top brands I've used. Also less expensive. As soon as my other Bionaire goes, I will buy this one again from Amazon.
