I just got this unit about a month ago for my mother to replace a more expensive Dehumidifyer that decided to burn up after only about 4 years. I have a different model from Haier that I like, so when I saw this one clearenced at a local store, I picked it up at half off. So far, its working well. Very quiet. Easy to use controls and settings, and sucks moisture out quickly. One of the better values for a dehumidifyer.

Great price and product. Set-up is easy. Take unit out of box, attached drain hose to bucket, set unit on top of slop sink in basement with hose into the sink. Turn the only knob that is on the unit to 5 and let it cycle. After one hour I could feel the difference in my basement. The next morning all signs of moister are gone from the basement. Two days later you would never know it was summer outside....dry. Unit is a little noisy but since its staying in the basement doesnt bother me. I would not suggest it for a bedroom due to noise. Unit has mechanical control so if power should drop unit will restart when blackout is over. No complaints other than noise so 4 stars.

I purchased this unit. While it worked it did a good job but it broke within 3 weeks. I only emptied the bucket 4 times. Very disappointing.
Second Unit Just Died February 10, 2008

My first unit died in less than 1 year of use. The return policy is return it at your own expense, and send them $18 to cover their shipping expense. I elected to return it to the retailer for a replacement. Less than 4 months later the second unit stopped working.
If you need a heavy duty model this sure will not fit the bill.
Not worth the time July 27, 2008
Do not buy this product. We bought one and it didn't even turn on. Manufacturer wanted $15 just to ship us a new one...when it was their problem. Don't bother with them or the product.
